- My own description of my current work methods, february 2010

Since 2007 working as an artist I realized during the last years a couple of video installations which combine real spaces with imaginary ones by using video projections of so called “staged light-and shadow plays”.

My manner of visual work methods is leaded by intuition. First, I build sculptures out of translucent materials, referring to organic forms like plants or crystals or more science-fiction-like objects. In the studio I’m installing these objects in the right proportion with the surrounding space. A moving light source is causing shadows, which I register by video- and photography devices. To invoke an experience of infinity and to overcome the narrative structure of film I edit that material into video loops, where rhythmical repetition of form and color is leading. In the final installation in the exhibition room I project those short video’s to influence specific qualities as scale and measurement of the real space.
