November/December 2009 Paraplufabriek at Besiendershuis presents:
On the finissage evening I cite my poem: "Vagina Vagina" and throw "The blue flower" into the waves of the Waal... unfortunately it couldn't swim....
"De tentoonstelling ‘Between Time / Between Space’ gaat over het kunstwerk als vier- dimensioneel en interactief periodiek environment. Actuele kunstwerken settelen zich tijdelijk in het exclusieve kader van dit belangrijke historische Nijmeegse gebouw uit de 16de eeuw. Beide: de ruimte en kunstwerken, versmelten en transformeren hiermee tijdelijk tot hedendaags rariteitenkabinet. Centraal in de tentoonstelling staat de relatie tussen herinnering aan, en de beleving van tijd, plaats en ruimte. Anneke Ingwersen, Eva Olthof en Dorien de Wit gebruiken deze thematiek elk op een verschillende manier. In ‘Between Time - Between Space’ confronteren en positioneren ze elk hun werk in de specifieke context van een bijzondere omgeving. Er ontstaat een interessante wisselwerking vanwege de uitgebalanceerde dialoog tussen de met eigentijdse media gerealiseerde kunstwerken en het historische pand." In de zogenaamde hangkamer van hout, die maar 1.80m hoog is, plaats ik een enkele projectie van "Compass-Heat 2" in een trage versie.
"De filmische installatie voert ons moeiteloos mee in een herinnering aan onze kinderlijke fantasie, toen we er zonder enige moeite in slaagden de ruimte onder een tafel van het ene op het andere moment om te toveren in een uitgestrekt desolaat landschap van een nog onontdekt gebied. Te midden van de uitgestrekte leegte komen we een vreemdsoortig sciencefictionachtig voorwerp tegen wat baadt in een mistige damp, alsof er energie uit ontsnapt. De oranjerode sfeer waarin dit gebeuren zich voltrekt is feeëriek en prikkelt de fantasie. Door het extreem laag plafond perst het kunstwerk zich in de ruimte." ( Andree van de Kerckhove )
In de kleine kelderruimte plaats ik de installatie “Die blaue Stunde”; het samenspel van mysterieuze schaduwbeelden van een lichtgevende plantachtige object die op de wanden van de ruimte samenvallen met nachtelijke opnames van een wateroppervlak in een bos. De kunstenaar refereert hiermee naar “Die Blaue Blume”, de metafoor die Duitse schrijvers uit de Romantiek zoals Novalis, uit een oude legende oppikten. Het verhaal wat als geen ander de ultieme droom naar de ware – wellicht onbereikbare – geliefde bezingt.

I held a short lecture about special underground spaces, f.e. water reservoirs, which functioned as a starttingpoint for the new work "Kompas", a video installation.

I took part at the "European City Seminar" in Bruxelles: Transformation processes of postindustrial cities in europe for scientists, artists and journalists. In july there will take place the 10-day-long trip to Chemnitz and Chomutov for doing fieldresearch. The next month I have to prepare for it, doing research about Who staid and who left that region... Shoud I stay or should I go, the main question in times of changes.. I'm making new plans and seeing a lot of chances...and challenges:
I'm using and exploring the virtual community more and more:
My Face book, linkedin-account and You-Tube.
I'm looking and applying for possibilities of exhibitionspace in the bigger cities: Berlin, Cologne,the Randstad (Rotterdam, Den Haag or Amsterdam) or other opportunities.... Thinking global, acting local... i'm also orientating on gelderland -artland -the borderregion of netherland/germany....
And i'm writing an application for startstipendium and researcher in art/science. I like that ! I learn a lot about my work by getting comments from other professionals of the art field ...I'm looking for exchange of ideas... the right podia.
Further on I'm doing theoratical research about art and human science, new romaticsm, organic architecture, questions of nature-culture: artificial landscape or natural culture... All will culminate in the next movie with the set design of the last installation. I work on it.

September 2008:
During the last months I have worked on a commissioned artwork for a hospital. Now my plan is ready and i have to wait for the last decisions. The chosen technical method wil be airbrush on glas by a firm who is specialised for that. The glas plates will stand in front of LED - lights and in the open air, which will result in a very nice reflection of coloured lights on the floor. I give a little glimpse of the kind of images i used.

During the groeps-exposition with the dutch stipends of the last gap-years in Schloss Ringenberg I will show two new film-works: "Schwarz-Rot-Gold" and "Säulenhain", and a related photography. The films are inspired by and produced in the special round room of the castle tower.

The first images from my new work: a site-specific installation: a multimedia projection of shadow-light features against the ceiling of the round "Secret room" in the castle. Before getting there the visiter has to go through an attic, which totally doens'nt look as an room of an exposition.
The inhabitants of the castle proudly present: Schlossstrasse, opening at 4th of november, at 5 o'clock tea time...
September 2007
After a time of theoretical research about panopticum, the discovery of shadows and central perspective I'm working now on a new installation especially for the round tower in the castel. Something with karrussels and projections. I'm working on a video film with shadow play. Some images as an appetizer:

And i'm shifting in images: less is more. I try that.

From july till december i'm invited to stay at the residency Schloss Ringenberg, a place nearby Emmerich with a beautiful appartement and studio in the old tower of the castle. . I will work and live here next half year, which will be a great opportunitie!
